Feelings
PreK- Students learned how to identify how they feel in different situations using happy, sad, mad, and scared. They also learned how to match feelings with their reactions to different situations. Last, students were able to demonstrate how facial expressions change by drawing a happy, sad, mad, and scared face.
K- The students were introduced to Emotional Eugene, The Feeling Blue Jellybean, which helped them understand and express their emotions/feelings. Next, the students were able to identify the feelings by watching someone act out feelings and looking at facial expressions. Last, the students were able to draw different facial expressions on the jellybeans to match each emotion.
1st- The students listened to the story, Today I Feel Silly & Other Moods That Make My Day. We discussed how everyone has many different feelings inside of them and discussed how someone feels, looks, or acts when they have a particular feeling. The students then made a feelings wheel that identify and demonstrate different feelings.
2nd- The students listened to the story, My Many Colored Days. We had a discussion about how colors relate to feelings and what kind of feelings they experience during the day. Last I compared the students to a bag of Skittles... there are lots of feeling colors in the bag just like there are inside them!
3rd- The students participated in a lesson on how to "Deal with Mad Feelings." The students were able to identify times they feel angry, ways to deal with anger, and recognize the difference in a feeling and an action.
